NEW-JOBS!

SNOW AVIATION INTERNATIONAL, INC.

Who are we . . .

Snow Aviation International, Inc. (SAI) is one of the very few aviation design and development companies in the world that is not connected to a major aircraft manufacturer, but can bring together all of the elements necessary for the original design, heavy modification or refurbishment of all sizes of aircraft. SAI specializes in privately funded development programs to increase the versatility and extend the economic lives of proven aircraft as well as the development of new aircraft designs. Major studies and programs have included the C-130, C-141, S-2, T-37/A-37, T-38/F-5, P-3, SA-16, U-10, AU-24, DC-3, DC-4, DC-8, DC-9, DC-10, B727, B747 and SA-200 Series aircraft.

What are we working on?

C-130E/H UPGRADES

HAMILTON SUNDSTRAND NP2000 EIGHT BLADE PROPELLERS

As part of the STOL HERK program the NP2000 propellers have been installed on the Snow Aviation test-bed aircraft in order to test and demonstrate increased takeoff, climb, and landing performance. Testing is ongoing and preliminary numbers clearly show that a C-130 E or H equipped with the modern propellers significantly outperforms the same aircraft with the original 54H60 four-blade propellers during takeoff, landing, and more. See the current projects page for more information on this modification.

C-130 A UPGRADES

The company's first product is a new generic cockpit (avionics system) made up of four separately developed elements collectively known as the "Modern Technology Cockpit" (MTC). Each element is being developed under a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) which will be FAA certified. The four phases of this product are as follows:

Phase I

A new electric system (clean, stable, reliable power), system control and distribution system. Completed in August of 1995 and currently operational in Lockheed C-130A aircraft FAA Reg. No. N130SA. SAI holds the FAA Type Certificate number TQ3CH on this C-130A aircraft and the FAA STC number ST396CH on the SAI developed Electrical System. This FAA certified electrical system is now available for installation in other C-130 aircraft.

Phase II

Consists of installing the following systems - the new short and long range communications, the new control systems for inter-communications, new transponder, new short range navigation systems, and a new cockpit recorder. This installation was completed in October of 1995 with success. N130SA has been contracted by NASA to fly a number of special missions using this equipment.

Our People

SAI maintains personnel of approximately 100 employees including aeronautical engineers and experts in the aeronautical industry. The top twenty people in SAI have more than eight hundred (800) total years of experience in the aviation industry. The company maintains a net of additional engineers in the aeronautical industry which it calls upon as necessary for practical solutions for its client's necessities.
